My name is Ella Lama, and I am an illustrator based in Manila, Philippines. My specializations are digital illustration and lettering. I also hold workshops for freelance artists and entrepreneurs called Creative Career Roadmap, where we discuss the basics of pricing, self-promotion, and business. When not busy with commissions and teaching, I design and sell my own line of stationery products.
My work has appeared in They Draw and Cook, Spirituality and Health Magazine, Katha Magazine, Working Mom, Real Living, The ABC's of Hand Lettering, and 1,001 Stickers for Kids. Select clients include Ayala Land Inc., Nescafe Philippines, Artline PH, Simbalion PH, Raintree Restaurants, Nayong Pilipino, and Department of Trade and Industry—Go Lokal, among others. I have also served as a typography jury member for the 98th ADC Annual Awards.
If I am not at home playing with my art materials, I am usually in one of two places: at a bookstore hunting down new books to read, or in a café sketching my ideas on paper. I am a big fan of boba milk tea, and I listen to one song on loop whenever I'm working.
